The regular clock divides the day into hours minutes & seconds. Meanwhile we divide it by 1000 equal parts & we call them Day Beats.
The regular clock divides the year into months, weeks & days. Meanwhile we divide it by 1000 equal parts & we call them Year Beats.
Astronomically speaking the definitions for day & year are the following:
- "A day is the period of time during which the Earth completes one rotation with respect to the Sun."
- "A year is the period of time, during which the earth makes one revolution around the Sun."
Since that, logically, the Day Beats & the Year Beats are two unrelated systems, in opposite of our traditional timekeeping.
This app (application) is heavily inspired by Swatchs metric ( @beats / .Beats ) which they reference the zero beat to BMT (Bien Mean Time, which is actually UTC+1).
In respect to them, you can also set the BMT as the reference for the zero beat for the Day Beats.
Also except of the standard UTC & BTM you can set the zero beat to be on you local timezone.
The app also features a converter (calculator) between Time & Date to Day Beats & Year Beats, respectively & vice versa, followed by the presets.
Features a Today Extension for a quick look on our timekeeping.
Also has a watch app, complications & a glance for an even quicker & more convinient look.
Thanks for using our cute app,
